Lovely hotel food was amazing... How ever a little training on customer care I think would go along way. We would definitely return.
Spent a lovely night with my partner and 2 little boys warm comfortable clean hotel with roaring wood fire in reception. Had really sound nights sleep on an excellent bed. Breakfast was perfect. Lots of choice . Harvey and Christopher serving were professional friendly and catered to our every whim. When my 5 year old felt a bit poorly and wanted to go for a lie down harvey immediately asked if we wanted the cooked breakfast delivered to our room and quickly did this. Angela on reception was delightful. Again professional friendly and a credit to the hotel. She even asked my little boys if they would like to come down at 8am to give the deer their breakfast. My 7 year old was overjoyed. He said this was the highlight of the stay and will write about it at school. The deer are very gentle when they feed from your hand it's the first time he has hand fed an animal and loved it. We have lived in durham for 8 years and this is our first visit to Whitworth Hall but it won't be our last. We always stay at the Marriott when we overnight stay but when we want a short local break with fresh air and country walks we will be back
What a lovely start to our 2019. Lovely relaxing break with gorgeous food served in beautiful surroundings. The facilities were great, lovely clean comfy bedroom and bathroom. Great staff. Highly recommended.
Fantastic hotel set in a beautiful deer park. The food is amazing and the staff are amongst the best in the business. Looking forward to going back.
Had lunch from the Christmas Fayre menu recently.Went for the turkey dinner and found it of a good standard. The turkey, stuffing and pigs in blankets were really good and there was a good portion of veg.Although the Yorkshire pudding was overdone and spoilt- the main disappointment was a very average gravy which was already covering the dinner when it arrived. Couldn't pinpoint the flavouring of the gravy but the Consensus of our party was that did nothing to enhance the enjoyment of the meal.Friendly staff and a lovely setting.
